Hi, I'm Erin.

I teach 7th grade math and am the End-of-the-Year Trip coordinator for 6th and 7th grades. I grew up just over the hill in Santa Ynez and started working at SBMS in 2005, but took a break to be with my children. I rejoined the SBMS community in 2015.

I graduated from Butler University with a BS in Chemistry, minor in Dance and later earned a Masters in International Education from The School for International Training in Vermont. I spent 12 years leading groups of students abroad on outdoor and cultural programs to places such as Japan, Thailand, India, Bolivia and New Zealand. While still in graduate school, I co-founded an organization called Teachers on Bikes. I spent 100 days biking through Central America and Mexico connecting non-government organizations and local schools with classrooms in the USA at a time before blogging was possible.

On my days away from school, I love to travel, hike, bike, garden, play in the ocean and spend time with my family.
