During our one-week Community Involvement Program, the community becomes our classroom and students perform volunteer service and learn about a variety of careers. This program is designed to teach our students self-reliance, concern for peers and a life-long attitude of service.
We believe if you put a mountain in front of a child and show him that he can climb it, the sense of accomplishment and self-confidence he gains will fuel him all of his life. The Outdoor Education Program designs expeditions that lend modern relevance to the ancient ideal of a rite of passage and initiation into adulthood. Students and staff participate three times each year in these extended field trips, which demand considerable physical effort, responsibility and communal cooperation.
