ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT

Diamond Time

Since our founding, SBMS has always worked to stay at the forefront of education and to “cut a groove” with the adolescent age group. The institution of “Diamond Time” is our most recent program that reflects current brain research, sleep studies, and the needs of the developing adolescent child*.

“Diamond Time” occurs between 8:15 and 9:00 a.m. each morning and offers our students a multitude of physical, intellectual, and extracurricular opportunities. On any given day a student can arrive on campus to finish homework in our learning center, work on a computer project in the digital lab, play music with friends, meet individually with a teacher, get creative in one of our art studios, work in our garden, or start the day with yoga.

We also offer off-campus activities that might include golfing, surfing, beach volleyball, and/or swimming. If a student needs more sleep, he or she is welcome to arrive at school at 9:00 a.m. Our academic school day begins promptly at 9:15 a.m.
