During this trimester we'll be exploring more (more, more) topics in Flash, deepening and widening our understanding of this kuhl program. The main thrust of our exploration will be in the direction of GAME DESIGN. We'll be looking at some of the building blocks of games, including some of the programming (a.k.a. "action scripting") required to make them run.
There's still room for beginners, who will learn about the basics of art & animation, and should reference the site dealing with Flash basics.
Class Requirements
All class members will be expected to complete several animation projects over the course of the trimester. Students working individually or in groups on a game may count their collective efforts toward this goal. Students will create a "portfolio" application in Flash that will display their work. Click on the PORTFOLIO button above to find out how...

To move the rockets, you'll first have to click on the animation to move the browser's FOCUS to the animation.
Now press on the arrow keys (right, left, up, down). The rocket with the "4" can move 4 ways (right, left, up & down). The rocket with the "8" can move in 8 ways (right, left, up, down, plus the diagonals up right, up left, down right & down left). This is done with almost identical action scripting.
See if you can move the "8" rocket to the opposite side of the "4" rocket without losing the rockets off the edge of the screen.
Try it out here, then download the Flash file and open it in Flash to see how they're scripted.
